NORTH RIVER BONSAI
Tennessee, USA
2025

5.75 x 4.5 x 4.5 inches
Clay, Glazed
Slab Built, Fired to Cone 6
"This bonsai pot is a Terraform Pod Model B. One could imagine the Pod being sent to distant barren planets to bring life to them. The Pod would open and plants would grow helping to change the atmosphere. The environment would create new opportunities for bonsai. One envisions  a cascading juniper with a lot of jin or an accent plant reaching down towards the planet.

The pot is completely slab built and is based on a geometric solid. Each piece is cut out and assembled with slip into the pot. The legs are slab built pyramids. A stabilizer ring binds the legs of the pot together. A matte green glaze is used to complement the planting and depict years of struggle on the planet. The pot has a drain hole and two wire holes."
