In honor of our friendship and as a tribute to the historical ties between our communities, the North American Bonsai Pottery Competition is proud to showcase selections of Japanese bonsai pots, generously shared by the Japanese bonsai community.

A B O U T K A M I Y O U S E T S U
In 2001, Mr. Hirota Tautomu built a kiln at his home and began working as a pottery artist. In 2011, he submitted to the Shin-Nitto National Public Exhibition, where he was selected and awarded. By 2019, he had joined the Fujimi City Shohin Bonsai Association, opened his gallery Bonsōju in Kinshicho, Tokyo, and held a solo exhibition. In 2023, he became a member of the Shohin Bonsai club Kiraku-kai. Today, he focuses primarily on creating mame bonsai pots.
