2.25 x 7 x 1.5 inches
Paoli Stoneware Clay, Crushed Glass
Wheel Thrown, Salt Fired, Cone 10
"This pot is wheel thrown with my distinctive split rim and addition of crushed glass. Feet were added in a double layer to provide additional sight lines that deceive the eyes into seeing a taller pot than what it actually is. The bottom of the feet have been polished to provide additional stability. The toasty brown color of the clay is accentuated by the wood/salt combination. Interesting crystals formed on the crushed glass as well. The tie-down holes are intentionally created with grooves to help hide wires and improve the negative space beneath the pot. I see this pot as a forever home to a conifer based on the depth."

I started throwing pots on the wheel 5+ years ago for physical therapy so I could regain the use of my right hand. I developed an interest in creating bonsai pots when a friend asked me to make one for him and I just launched from there.

Over the course of the last three years I’ve concentrated on developing a recognizable style along with being more consistent with my technical skills. I have branched into slab building and combined forms so I can offer a wider of variety of designs. I have also developed a deep interest in atmospheric firing and glaze recipe formulation. I hope at this stage people are enjoying and appreciating my efforts as much as I enjoy sharing my creativity.
