Traditional Glazed MERE JONES
GUARDIAN OF THE SEA POTTERY Georgia, USA 2025 6 x 6 x 2 inches Clay, Wheel Thrown Gas Reduction Firing, Cone 6 "This pot shines with contrasts. The lower half features an ash glaze recipe mixed in the Waldo Street Pottery studio and applied using a dip method, while the top was sprayed with a bronze glaze (also mixed at WSP) with a thicker application along the rim providing a hint of metallic luster."

"My day job involves creating graphics and layouts with very specific parameters which serve very specific purposes. I suppose the same can be said about the art of bonsai pottery which is steeped in centuries of tradition with added constraints that the tree occupant needs to be able to stay alive in the resulting container. Nevertheless, I find that creating bonsai pottery is a freeing experience for me. I throw, carve, construct, and glaze for my personal taste with little concern about what anyone else may think about the results." - Mere Jones
